This fund is to ensure the dedicated health care workers at Josephine's Caring Community are fully supported during this time of crisis.
Funds will provide Josephine's with extra support for things like ensuring workers who become sick but have exhausted their sick leave can afford to stay home and recover, or provide extra support to workers whose spouse may have been laid off from a job, or help for those who end up having to stay home because they've lost their child care. Basically, anything that supports the Josephine's health care workers to ensure they can remain healthy and be at work without worrying about the consequences to their financial security.
In light of the current COVID-19 situation it has become clear that we need to be better prepared for future disasters that may impact our community.
With this in mind, the Stanwood-Camano Disaster Relief Fund has been created. This flexible funding source will provide critical assistance to 501(c)(3) nonprofits and other charitable organizations which provide essential services in our community. This fund will give us the ability to keep our community functioning when there are urgent short-term funding needs created by unforeseen events that disrupt essential services.
We are calling on everyone to come together and build this safety-net now, because much of the time, after the fact is too late.
Because disaster relief funding is better done consistently over time, we encourage you to consider a smaller monthly recurring donation that will be ongoing rather than a larger one-time donation. The Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation will match up to $25,000 in recurring donations made to the Disaster Relief Fund through the Floyd and Delores Jones Endowment.
