Jennifer has lived on Camano Island since 2003, with her husband John.  Both of their children, Greta and Griffin, attended all their years in the Stanwood-Camano school district with the youngest, Griffin, graduating in 2022.  Although born in Arizona, Jennifer has spent most of her life in Washington, graduating from Columbia River High School in Vancouver, WA and obtaining her BS in Aeronautical Engineering at UW.  She has spent almost 30 years in the aerospace industry including almost 15 years at Aviation Technical Services in Everett and is currently an Associate Director of Engineering for Collins Aerospace.  She loves working for and with our youth and has volunteered her time teaching finance in the classroom for Junior Achievement, organizing youth education/activities at Camano Lutheran Church, being a member of the Curriculum Committee for the SCSD, coaching volleyball, helping with Boy Scouts, and being the SHS Band Booster Treasurer. Jennifer joined the Board in 2022 and took on the role of President in 2026.

Elaina Dulaney has lived in Washington most of her life, going to middle and high school in Kennewick, Washington before attending Pacific Lutheran University where she earned a BA in Communications with a minor in Business. When she was young she lived on Hilton Head Island, SC, and she is grateful to once again return to island life here on Camano. Elaina has worked in high tech communications for over 30 years including 13 as a small business owner. Elaina has served on several boards, and is passionate about the arts, philanthropy, and giving back to the community where she lives. She has been married to Steve for 30 years and they have two grown children. She enjoys traveling, anything outdoors including hiking, golfing and crabbing, Husky and Seahawk football games, and cooking for family and friends. One of her favorite expressions is, “I never met a person I couldn’t learn something from!”

Laura is a long time Camano Island resident and community volunteer who recently retired from her career in a leadership role with Coastal Community Bank. She has been on the board for 20 years, and during that time she has seen SCAF grow from a high school scholarship program to a robust, collaborative, and engaged foundation serving the full breadth of the community. She and her husband enjoy all the amenities our community has to offer, and the amazing people who live here.

Ian Gleadle is a professional photographer residing part and fulltime on Camano Island since 1991. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1985 with a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science. Ian and his wife Linda have two college graduate children, one grandchild, and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Sophie. When he is not busy volunteering in the community he spends time gardening, and is an Island County Master Gardener. He strongly believes that all students should have an opportunity to go to college and discover who they are and what they can become!

Bonnie moved to Camano Island in 1996 to retire. After five years of college and graduating with a BS and nursing degree, her first position was in Pasco WA. That introduction to the western United States spawned not only an appreciation for the mountains and ocean and the outdoor activities they fostered, but also a strong sense of community commitment. Throughout her professional life, Bonnie's priorities were public teaching, supporting children's programs, mentoring rural hospitals and young professionals, and creating emergency/disaster plans. Living in seven states, she also had an opportunity to be a small business and apartment owner, sell real estate, and broker mortgages, always returning to her passion in an emergency department or critical care area. Married to her husband Richard for 30 years, traveling the world with him and returned home to a standard poodle on Camano Island has been a most educational and satisfying journey, for which she is very grateful.

Dave Hayes has lived on Camano Island for 30 years with his wife, Lisa. They have two grown sons, Jeff and Chris as well as six grandchildren. Dave served three terms in the State House of Representatives representing the 10th Legislative District and is a career law enforcement officer, currently serving as an Commander with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.  He is a past president of the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs, serving law enforcement officers statewide, and has taught in the Criminal Justice Department of Everett Community College. Before entering law enforcement, Dave served in the U.S. Navy as an enlisted Aircraft Mechanic and worked several years in the aerospace industry.

Christine has lived in Stanwood since 2005. She and her husband, Tony, have two grown daughters. Christine has a bachelor's degree in Business Education from EWU, master's degree in Education Administration from CWU, and her superintendent credentials from SPU. Christine's career has been in public education, having served as a business & marketing teacher and career & technical education director in Ephrata, Washington. Christine most recently served as the high school principal at Stanwood High School for 17 years. Her current role is Executive Director of Human Resources for the Stanwood-Camano School District. Christine enjoys spending time in the Chelan area, traveling, being with family, and loves anything Disney. Christine joined the SCAF board in 2023.

Don and his wife Frances have been married for over 35 years and have lived on Camano Island for most of that time. They have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. Don spent many years coaching local sports teams when his children were young and has the philosophy that, "families that play together stay together". The Schlagel family also loves to spend time on the water crabbing and water skiing, and have attended Camano Lutheran Church for almost 30 years. He joined the board in 2020, when, after talking with a couple friends on the SCAF Board, he realized it would be a great fit.

Alex is a third-generation Camano Island resident. Alex is a stay-at-home dad and a former intellectual property attorney who specialized in securing patents for technology companies. Alex and his wife Jessica have two children who love exploring Camano Island’s forests and beaches. Alex coaches youth sports and is president of the Camano Outdoor Education Association, which operates the outdoor Camano Forest School. Alex joined the SCAF board in 2022.

Natalie grew up in Stanwood, and she and her husband raised their two children here. She was a Preschool Teacher at Our Saviour's Lutheran Preschool for 10 years, and was elected for two terms on the Stanwood-Camano School District Board of Directors. Her eight years on the School Board provided her with extensive experience in leadership, problem-solving, and board-executive relationships.

Natalie joined the SCAF team in 2017 as an Administrative Assistant, and accepted increasing levels of responsibility before being promoted to the role of Executive Director in 2023.

Emily is a fourth generation Stanwood resident, living here with her husband and two sons. She was an Administrative Assistant for a food brokerage company for ten years prior to coming to work for SCAF in 2024. Emily is actively involved with the Cedarhome Elementary School PTO and was previously on the board of the Our Saviour's Lutheran Preschool.

Megan is a lifelong Stanwood resident with a deep passion for serving her community. After several years spent working as a Master Esthetician and volleyball coach, she's embraced the refreshing change of pace that comes with being part of the SCAF team.

When she's not at our front desk, Megan enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and son, serving on the worship team at Cedarhome Baptist Church, or cooking up delicious meals for her friends and family. Megan joined the staff at SCAF in 2024.

Julie is proud to be a Stanwood-Camano resident for 25+ years, raising two grown children in this amazing community. Julie has over 30 years experience in the medical industry and ten years as a bookkeeping business owner.

Julie entered the nonprofit industry in 2008, as Director of Safe Harbor Free Clinic. She then served as Director of Lincoln Hill Retirement community for seven years. Julie joined the SCAF team in 2023.
